My Favorite DIY Hair Mask

My Favorite DIY Hair Mask

As seasons change, the difference in temperatures can affect us in a multitude of ways. One of them of course affecting our bodies. Our skin can become drier, and our hair can become more brittle. Since Spring has arrived, I wanted to share with you all my favorite diy hair mask.

I’ve never been big on hair masks, I figured they were just another way for companies to make money, by convincing you that it’s something you need. BUT, I stand corrected. Given, I didn’t buy this mask, I made it at home with items around the house. What I love most about searching for the best diy beauty regimens is the fact that they’re diy, I love when I can make something simple that has great affects. After using it, I was getting compliments left and right about how healthy and shiny my hair looked. My holy grail beauty/house product for the month of March as well as for the rest of my life is baking soda.

I had one day where I experimented with baking soda; using it as a foot soak, teeth whitener, face mask, and hair mask. Let me know in the comments if you’d like me to share the rest of my baking soda glory with you! For now, I’ll be giving you a step by step tutorial on how to make this mask.

Your Ingredients:

Baking soda, apple cider vinegar, and shampoo (I use Kristin Ess).

Buy your ingredients here:

  1. When it came to measurements, I started eyeballing it after the first time. With my shampoo, I just added a dollop to my mixing bowl, like so ( if you can see it) :

2. Then, I added roughly 2 spoonfuls of baking soda. After this, you’ll add the apple cider vinegar and you basically want it to be the consistency of a paste, so if needed you can always add more baking soda to the mix.

3. I added about 2 spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar as well. Of course, since it’s vinegar, it’s going to fizz briefly, but no need to worry.

4. This is how my paste looks when I’m done mixing everything together:
