Organizing My Makeup Drawer

Organizing My Makeup Drawer

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! For today’s post, I’m going to be showing you how I reorganized my makeup drawer.

It sounds simple enough, but I can guarantee that a ton of girls have this problem. Organizing anything is often overlooked, because who has the time to clean in such a detailed way?

It had been on my mind for a while because I was annoyed with having an over flowing drawer of makeup products. It was too cluttered, and it was filled with tons of expired makeup, and things I just didn’t wear anymore.

Also, I’m so sorry I haven’t done a blog post nearly all month! If you follow me on instagram, (click below if you’re not following: https://www.instagram.com/chlos.call/), you’ll know that I recently started a new job! So it’s been busier, slightly hectic, but I love it. With my new position, I have a new routine and different hours thus affecting my posting schedule on here. BUT! Things are starting to settle down now, so I’m confident this length of a delay won’t happen again.

Alright guys, let’s jump in to this organization that I did. I am including below a shameful BEFORE photo of what my drawer used to look like:

Awful, right? Another reason that inspired me to clean the drawer was a super cute, highly recommended makeup organizer I found on Amazon, (which I will leave a link later in the blog post).

So the organizer would typically be seen as more fit for travel, but I love how easy it is to store my makeup, and I could easily take it on the go and pack it for a trip, or whatever the reason may be.

Of course, Ava was curious as to what all the commotion was in the bathroom, so here you’ll see her supervising my organizing.

So this is how I ended up organizing all the makeup that I wear daily. I don’t wear a ton of makeup, so this storage size was the perfect amount of storage, with a little room left over should I want to add anything else. So from left to right, in the bottom part of the organizer, I have my eyebrow pomade, scrunchies, a head band, and a compact mirror. In the second row, I have concealer, foundation, eyeliner and mascara, and all my remaining lip glosses.

In the top part of the organizer, I tucked away all my brushes I use. Another thing I really like about this organizer, is that the area that’s designated for makeup brushes, (where I put mine too), is a nice plastic material, so there won’t be any makeup stains if my brushes aren’t perfectly clean. If there were any smudges, you could literally just wipe it off with a wipe or paper towel.

Annnnnnnnd for the drum roll please! Below is the AFTER photo!

Much better, don’t you think? It could still use a bit more tidying, but it’s still an improvement from before. Also, Kolani and I will moving soon, like next month, so this will be easy to pack up and move when that time comes. I’ve mentioned the move on instagram, but I haven’t done any posts or videos about it, but it’s coming soon, so stay tuned for house renovation content!

I hope you guys enjoyed today’s post, it was super satisfying to reorganize my drawer and share the results with you! To shop the makeup organizer, click the link here: https://amzn.to/2KcbMWC (p.s., it’s under 20$)
