Weight Loss Update Part 6

Hi friends! Welcome back to another weight loss update; the first one of the new year. How’s everybody doing in 2020 part 2? Just kidding. I wanted to check in and do another weight loss post, because honestly they’re some of my most popular here on the blog, and I think it’s a great way to feel more confident. All body types are welcome here.

A lot has happened so far this year. Back in November, Kolani and I got engaged. Then February hit and we were snowed in. Between January-March, Kolani had a few surgeries for an abscess, I was laid off from work and we brought home another puppy, Archer.

Safe to say, it’s been a little chaotic. I’m not gonna lie though, it’s been nice to be at home with my pups and take a breath. During a lot of this time, I was trying my best to squeeze workouts in here and there. But once we brought Archer home, the workouts stopped.

Suddenly I had my hands full with two dogs and training, which is great. I love keeping busy and have things to look after. But shortly after I started feeling groggy and unmotivated. It had been a while since we had a puppy so our sleep schedule was out of sync with Archer’s.

It wasn’t until last week when I told Kolani I wanted to make it a priority to get my workouts in again. Since I put my health back at the top of my list, I’ve notice a happier shift in my mood. I’ve cooked at home more, woken up earlier and as of right now I’m even cutting back on drinking.

When the pandemic hit, I’m not gonna lie, I did start to drink more. It’s been a hell of a year (or two) and it felt truly blissful to cuddle up with my little family and a glass of wine (or two, or three) and try to block out the world.

I realized I needed to get things back under control, so I’m going to challenge myself and not drink for this entire week. I might go even longer depending on how I feel.

I also haven’t weighed myself in a little while. I told you guys in one of my last weigh loss posts that I was obsessively weighing myself countless times during the day, which began to discourage me from working out as well because I couldn’t see an immediate difference.

I don’t want to be obsessed with the number on the scale, I want to feel healthy and look my best to train my brain into believing that I’m beautiful. Low self esteem and body dysmorphia are generally relatable, so i just want you to know that you don’t need to look good for anyone for yourself. If you want to lose weight to get fit, do it! If you want to lose weight to be healthy do it! It doesn’t matter what your personal reason is, just being healthy is the main focus.

I hope to update you guys soon on diet, exercise and other things. Once Archer has all his shots, we’re planning on doing a bunch of hikes this summer with both pups to enjoy the beautiful PNW summer! I can’t wait for those long warm days.

I’ll talk to you in the next one, thanks for stopping by!
